Many English artists have used the land as a source of inspiration for their work, from the English landscaper like Constable, Turner, Palmer, Wilson and Gainsborough, but they never really liked to get their hands dirty and tended just to mess about with paint. Where as Hogarth was in there with a JCB at the drop of a hat and it wasn't just roundabouts, he was also responsible for Hogarth House just up the road.
